Furnace Installation in Portland, Oregon
High-efficiency heat, sized to your house rather than to a rule of thumb. Free in-home estimate, permits handled, and the job typically done in a day.
Why Replace
Cold rooms are usually a sizing problem.
Most homeowners assume an aging furnace that can't keep the house warm is simply worn out. Often it is — but just as often the system was never matched to the house in the first place, and a like-for-like replacement inherits the same problem.
A furnace that is too large short-cycles: it heats the thermostat quickly, shuts off, and leaves the far rooms cold while wearing itself out through constant starting and stopping. One that is too small runs continuously and never quite gets there. Both feel like a broken furnace. Neither is fixed by buying the same size again.
A modern high-efficiency unit will lower what you spend to heat the house. Getting the size right is what determines whether it also makes the house comfortable.

What Happens When You Book
You should know what you're agreeing to.
Before anyone touches your house, this is exactly how the job runs.
The Difference
We measure the house, not the old furnace.
The quickest way to quote a furnace is to read the label on the one being replaced and order the same output. It takes two minutes and it repeats whatever mistake was made last time.
We run a load calculation instead: climate, square footage, the size and shape and orientation of the home, the type and amount of insulation, and the windows. It is a longer conversation at the estimate, and it is the reason the new system behaves differently from the old one rather than identically.

Sized with a real load calculation rather than a rule of thumb — square footage, layout, orientation, insulation and windows. High-efficiency gas furnaces, typically installed in a day.
Emergency Furnace Repair
No heat on a cold night is not a comfort problem, it's an urgent one. We find the actual fault, tell you what it takes to fix, and say so if a repair isn't worth it.
Furnace Maintenance
A furnace burns fuel, which makes servicing it partly a safety job. What a visit covers depends on the age and condition of the system.
“Budget Heating installed a Rheem high efficiency furnace to replace an old oil conversion unit. Their bid was much lower than all the others I received. The new furnace was professionally installed in just half a day, works well and has lowered my gas bill significantly. I highly recommend Budget. They do good work.”
Rebates and Incentives
We'll tell you what's available. You file it with the program.
Energy Trust of Oregon runs rebate programs on qualifying high-efficiency gas furnaces, and federal tax credits may also apply. We're an approved Energy Trust trade ally, so the equipment we install meets program standards and we can advise on what your system is likely to qualify for.
